Hey readers! It's been a while, hasn't it?

Unfortunately, work-life has crippled my motivation and inspiration to write recently but there have been lots going on so I thought I would update you guys.

Becoming lead certified

Some of you may know this already but I will be studying to become a Lead preschool/Pre-Kindergarten teacher very shortly.

My work has recently been impressed by my flexibility and hard-work and has encouraged me to apply for a full scholarship to be trained as a lead. If unsuccessful in getting onto the scholarship program, they have offered to pay for my training. However, the other day I found out that I have been accepted onto the scholarship and the university that is running the program will pay for all my studies.

Preschool is from ages 3-4 years old and Pre-Kindergarten is from ages 4-5 years old, and so, Pre-K it is the equivalent of being a Year-R teacher in the UK.

The course is all online (just like The Open University) and it can take as little as 12 weeks to complete. After I have completed the online course, someone from the university will come to observe me teaching in a classroom (however, covid is restricting this so, they may give me a provisional qualification until they can do observations).

I'm not sure when I will start my course but I am super excited!

Driving test In a previous post, I talked about driving in the US and taking my driving test. Unfortunately, covid cases have risen in my area and we are now in stage "red" which is just under the highest alert (purple). So, my driving test will most likely be postponed until cases lower. It is also winter, which means more snow so, I haven't been practicing as much.

House

It feels like we have been waiting forever for our house to be built but they have finally started building the roads and the show homes for the new neighbourhood. Once the show homes have been built, they will start building our home. We are looking to move around June 2021 but it's okay because it means we have more time to save.

During Black Friday, we found some good deals for some kitchen appliances. There are still lots of things we need to think about but unfortunately, a lot of it can't be done or bought until the house is built.

Post Ideas

As stated at the beginning of this blog, I've found it a little difficult to write recently, even though I really enjoy it. Sometimes it's hard to know what to write about so if you have any ideas or questions about life in the US or anything else...then please let me know, and hopefully, it will help me write more.

As ever,

thank you so much for taking the time to read these posts! It really helps me stay connected with people back home!

Until next time...
